Two papers I co-authored that discuss climate change and technology transfer in rural Colombia were selected to be presented at the Cumulus Conference Bogota 2019: The Design After. Both papers were successfully presented at the conference, sparking interesting conversations with the audience.

My paper "Empathic Design as a Framework for Creating Meaningful Experiences," co-authored with Juanita Gonzalez, was selected to be presented at the Academy for Design Innovation Management Conference 2019. On Wednesday, June 19, I successfully presented the paper, which sparked a lot of interesting conversations with the audience.

Our research team, led by Prof. Juan Manuel España and me, was selected among a group of 40 teams of talented researchers and brilliant entrepreneurs to participate in the Oxelerator program and transform our research project “CirCob: Bio-materials for the circular economy” into an investor-ready business plan through an intense five-month accelerator program.

The students of my studio “Design for Sustainability” presented their final projects at the exhibit hall of the Faculty of Arts and Design (Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano, Module 20) on May 13-16, 2019. Their projects aimed at contributing to achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) identified by the World Design Organization as particularly relevant to the industrial design community.
