Over the past few months, I have been exploring the use of Generative AI to generate new materials and their applications. As a designer, these explorations have opened a portal to visualizing combinations of colors, textures, and patterns that, until now, seemed impossible or incredibly challenging to create through more traditional techniques.

After experimenting with Generative AI for almost 18 months, I am convinced that these are extremely powerful tools for idea exploration and concept generation that can profoundly and dramatically impact the design process and the design field.

I will continue experimenting with these tools to identify opportunities to expand our skills and capabilities as designers.
