The last update to my website was at the end of 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic started. Little did we know what 2020 had prepared to make us grow and reflect on our priorities and values.
In 2020, I almost lost both my parents, I was in quarantine with my family for nine months, and all the aspects of our lives were mixed in a single and confusing space-time.
However, at the same time, it was a year of immense professional and personal growth. I had the fantastic opportunity to serve as Head of the Department of Product Design at Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano, meet and collaborate with amazing people, and see firsthand the resilience and grit of our community.
Also, in 2020, I had the amazing opportunity to receive a job offer for a tenure-track position at Appalachian State University, where I have worked since April 2021 as an Assistant Professor. In the middle of a global pandemic, my family and I moved from Bogotá to Boone, North Carolina, which was an intense experience.
Now, almost two years since the last update to my website, I come back to continue sharing my journey as a researcher, educator, and designer and to engage in more open and exciting conversations with a larger audience.
