Making a friendlier city by exploring the plastic possibilities of concrete.
University of the Andes | Department of Design | Duna Research Project (PI: Freddy Zapata)
Concrete is usually perceived as a cold, heavy and unfriendly material that pervades the public space. In order to improve the way people perceive their built environment and to make cities friendlier, the Dune project explores different plastic possibilities of this material.
The result of this research project is a set of friendly pieces of urban furniture, built with just two modules that can be easily installed, changing the way people connects emotionally with public spaces.
